Digital Literacy Skills and Autism

I just had a wonderful conversation with Michele McKeone, Founder @AutismExpressed.   This comprehensive curriculum, amongst other things, promotes that:

“Digital literacy is an essential part of job-readiness, socialization and independence. Without these skills, this generation faces a critical barrier to independence.”

While I am hoping to be able to trial it in our school, I still want to get the word out to others because this is so vital and important for every child/adolescent, especially those that may need extra support.

We often teach the technical skills embedded in lessons but fail to build in those digital literacy skills in a comprehensive, scaffolded, positive, and motivating way.  Autism Expressed changes that.  Please make sure to check out the website at http://www.autismexpressed.com.   You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
